Dynasty Warriors 4 Empires Historical Battles

Автор:

So, I have always been a huge fan of the Dynasty Warriors series(having playing since the third one iirc), they just scratch an itch that no other game can quite do. Sadly, I haven't been able to play one since DW6, but I'm planning on rectifying that soon, and I need your help.

I have never played the Samurai Warriors series(Although I did play Warriors Orochi 1 and 2), but I have heard that the gameplay is better than in DW. I'm planning on buying the Empire version of either of them, since I'm a sucker for those kind of conquest modes, although if you have any suggestions for other versions it could be good too(Like, I saw there is a new SW called Spirits of Samada or something). Which one of the two would you recommend, SW or DW?EDIT: Also, really important, can I play as an Archer in SW?

However, at the end of the day Empires was always kind of simplistic. And seeing as Dynasty Warriors 9 so far already has all of the stuff I just mentioned, it makes me think that we'll get biggest and best Empires yet.

Is there any archer character or can I create one myself like in DW? DW8: Empires has you playing a specific officer (Historical or created), as though it were an action rpg. You can join, leave, and switch factions relatively easily, make friends and enemies, and any control over provinces, war declarations, and diplomacy comes from rising up in the ranks or conquering stuff on your own.Samurai warriors 4: Empires puts you in control of the faction instead. You are not Vagabond mcWanderer, you are the Oda Clan, or the Takeda, or (god forbid) the Tokugawa. You are basically playing Total War, but swapping out the RTS battles for Samurai Warriors gameplay instead. 4's a bit more interesting than most of the faction-based empires games, in that officers within the faction can establish rivalries and friendships and the like, but at the end of the day you're still playing the clan rather than a person. If you want to compare to previous Empires games, SW4:E has more in common with Dynasty Warriors 4&5: Empires, especially in the card system for handling the empire management stuff, while DW8: Empires is closer to 6&7:E.

You can decide to play that specific character more often in battle than the others if you want. You just select them as one of your characters on starting a battle, assuming he's in a territory connected to the battlefield.Your custom character would only be the ruler of the Oda if you choose to replace Nobunaga with him (I think).

Otherwise he's just another officer in the faction. And strictly speaking, the guy who's 'in charge' of the faction doesn't really matter, as they can only be killed or captured when assaulting a faction's final territory.
