Wednesday -Also did I mention we have a server? Hi guys,This is a bit of a long shot, not sure how many of you will remember/recognize Silkroad Online from back in the day, but damn what a game it was, and now I'm hit by extreme nostalgia.Anyway, I decided to check it out and the game is now basically subscription-based (30$ a month unless you want to wait 3hours+ to log in every time, the price is a bit too steep).

To my surprise there is actually a large private server community with many servers and features, varying level caps, exp rates, drop rates etc.Any of you guys still play this game and/or play on a private server? If so, which one? I'm looking for a stable server with a decently sized community. Elitepvpersits a board for gaming but has a huge private server section. The silkroad servers have their own subsection inside the silkraod section and afaik its the most active pserver community. Im sure you can find something there. Just a heads up: it can get circlejerky.

Server owners often trash talk each others server, so i suggest always checking the latest answers in the ad threads and see if theres something hugely negative and then double check the names and post counts of these users:D. The two most populated servers right now would be Electus and Cronos. The Electus team keeps launching a new server periodically and they've already announced another one coming up, however, I did log into one of their previous servers to see what's up and it was completely packed with pay2win. I played private servers before and was happy to donate 15-20$ to get the full item mall package, but no more than that.I see people recommend Origin Online, but I've no idea how popular it is. It has it's player count hidden on the website and one thing I learned is, they hide it for a reason.

The idea was you are on the legendary Silk Road, the big ass trade route. You had Traders who went from city A to B to sell items they bought cheap in A and sell them for more in city B. The further you'd to (city C for example) you'd have more value. Players could also pick up a Thief garment and hunt/kill these traders for their loot and steal their items and bring them to the thiefs outpost to sell the items they had stolen from the killed trader. So to protect them selfs traders would have Hunters help them who got paid to protect them from thieves or mobs.​Cool concept but you could grief a shit ton, was fun tho.

But the game is super grindy and I think the inventor of auto play in mobile games was a Silkroad Online player because of the amount of mindless grinding you've have to do. The playerbase was also 90% bots. Private servers often have the clause in there servers that bots are allowed, they mostly limit it to like 3 bots.

Its just a huge grindy game unless you find one of the uniwue servers that rework 50% of the game in favor of less grind.there was once an OFFICIAL bot for the game. Its integration was so good it played better than you yourself. Instant selection of mobs near you, perfect skill and potion usage, etc. That bot soon became pay2use, so its a good assumption that it was actually a secondary product of the publishers of silkroad themselves for more money.anyways, youll likely end up bottin in silkroad.
